the badge of honour

The badge of honour
Hold it with pride and commitment
Somewhere in its history
The bad apples make it wrong

Many died in the police hands
Waylaid robbers and gangsters
The vigilante patrols in uniform
No court no paper work to report

The convenient saying
Shootout with robbers and gangsters
Police officers have to defend themselves
While discharging their duties

It is fair and fine
If it is the truth be told
When other innocent parties died
At the wrong place the wrong time?

Even in police custody
The alleged suspects sustained injuries
Some died while in police detention
Cooking up excuses hiding facts again

Now the shooting on a 15 years old boy
On the head while driving away in late night
Police version and witnesses account.....
Think of the past deeds the public lost confidence

The badge of honour
A long ride to claim its place
For a few bad apples police dig in
The police force a long way from home
