where is the honour?

The olden days
The police had honour
The people respect the profession
For they held their badges in high

Years down the road
Somewhere along greed takes over
The badge has become a passport to wealth
To cable connections for lazy work

I had mixed with police officers
Some I knew before they got promoted
One got right up to CPO before he retired
These officers I knew played their roles

A year ago my brother in law retired
As the deputy OCPD of the police force
He told me of gangsters and bad hats
When he was around every one of them behaved

The underworld gangs know who he was then
The power of the badge and the easy approaching ways
Yet he knows he had to maintain certain level of civility
For when one is out on retirement vengence may come

Now the police badge is dishonoured
The people have lost confidence.......
It is said fish rot in the head the tail moving no direction
So we have read the childish statement

The IGP made to the press
For an employee he committed gross insubordination
He dares to say it he will get free
For the home minister can't kick ball

It will take a new government
For change to bring back the glory
Right now we have to prepared ourselves
Within the small area we live in....
