The early birds
The parents too
The Year one pupils
They are eager to go
Some flow naturally
Some stare with bewildered eyes
So many new faces
Parents sending them to school
The parents wait
On the corridors the morning light
Anxious faces knots in their minds
The rituals the familiar call
Some children cry
Feeling out of grid
The familiar walls disappearing
Tears begin to fall
Within a week
The children will smile
New friends sharing gadgets
Swap stories with laughter in the hall
