the convocation days

The florists on the side road
Displaying bouquet of flowers
Displaying toys too...
It is the university convocation days

Many parents or friends
They will stop to buy these items
Giving it away to the graduates
The turning pages have begun

Sometimes I wonder
Why don't they buy chocolates and books?
These items can be shared and remembered
Of those who come to celebrate with them

Every year so many graduated
And the workforce will be full of them
What will they become when work is scarce?
Become taxi drivers and professional maids?

As it is many are still unemployed
After years of graduation and still hoping
The florists will do brisk business
On every convocation days
