kampar and its hill

Kampar town

Sleepy most of the nights

Only wakes up during seasons

Of Ching Ming and Chinese New year

On a cool day

The morning mists floating in our eyes

It will be like angels coming down

But most folks aren't looking that way

They are busy preparing

The day of their businesses

Catering to the hungry souls

Waking up meeting in the stalls

Now the town has changed

The greens may be chopped off

Building houses and roads

Causing Nature to rebel

On a heavy rainy day

The heavy rain causing floods

The water flows from the hill

Clogged the drains rising water

The road around Maybank

It will be flooded causing jam

Even in new town traffic light area

The flooding too waving at length

The 36 stalls will experience it

The back is the river flowing

The rushing water will rise up its danger

Causing flood around the stalls

There is a big mining lake in the old town

A remnant of the heyday of tin mining

The Kamparians named it as Deadman pond

It is where some souls slept in to paradise

Now the lake area has changed

The town council cleared and layer cut the slopes

Exposing its nakedness to the sun and rain

The project seems to have stalled?

Many trees were cut down

Leaving the road with no shadows of shade

The shady umbrella had gone

Only the stray dogs running without a care

New houses are built and developed

As if Kampar has many people to buy homes

There are many empty shoplots and houses

Telling the economy isn't as good as before

The market needs a facelift

Inside it is dirty and not well maintained

The town council should be proactive

On cleanliness and upkeep of its buildings

A new bus station in operation

Surrounded by new shoplots in town

Currently many are still empty

Telling the sign of the economy

The Old bus station

The story of ghost in the night

It is a story I heard

As as non-Kamparian I wouldn't know

Kampar will grow

The sleeping town may wake up to the full

With college and university in town

The food and hotel businesses should flourish

But Kampar Hill must stay

It will help to cool the place

Humans love of money and profits

Nature will hit us back with vengeance

Kampar hill

The beauty of nature

Flourishing in the day

The mists in the morning

But structure plan 2030

The bad idea to put up a cemetery

Up on the hill slope

Trying to convert it to commercial land

It shouldn't have happened

It shouldn't be in the plan

The authority has not learned

Think of developments

The effects of its plan

It will cause impact on Nature

The flooding, air pollution and water

Don't forget soil erosion and landslides

Kampar hill

Let nature stay as it is

Kampar folks protested strongly

During campaigns to voice dissatisfaction

Kampar hill

Let its beauty stay naturally

Put a stop to its development

Let the mists of angels flow in the morning
