the moonlit night 2

the naked trees

The man extends his hands
Trying to feel his way around
He touches something hard
He grabs it with relief....

The moon now appears
The beam of rays shining bright
He rubs his eyes to see
He has walked so far away

“How could it be?”
He's now across the lake
He sees his black BMW
Parking as he did a while ago

He feels sharp edges touching him
He feels the fear returns once again
“No...No...I don't believe in ghosts!”
He closes his eyes to calm her nerves

He opens up to watch
The naked trees hanging with its slim naked branches
“What's this place I walked into?
I see everything as clear as today”

He walks around the naked trees
The shapes of dancers inviting him
The moonlit shadows playing in his eyes
It seems to dance capturing his fear

He brings out his packet of cigarettes
He tries to smoke but the lighter fails him
With shaking fingers he tries again
There is no flint for him to enjoy

Then he listens to the distance laughter
“You can't smoke in here........
Nature doesn't need your pollutants
You have made pains to her surrounding”

He holds his cigarettes
Eyes watching the night shadows
“Come on whoever you are!
You can't scare me like this!”
