tell the story
The night dragon puffs
It closes its eyes then flies away
“Remember you aren't alone in this planet
Don't think for a second your kind is the best!”
“What did I do?
I never do anything to you!”
“It's true but your kind did
Many centuries ago!”
“I let you go
So you can tell your story
Of my life living alone
In this planet I call home”
“Who will believe me?
Telling stories about dragons?”
“Only those who believe
Those who have the faith”
“You make me a fool
Let me go and tell stories
I don't have any evidence
Of all things about dragons!”
“I suppose you will find a way
In your mind you will think of something
Remember that dragons did exist
On this planet many centuries ago”
The man looks to the sky
The night dragon disappears
In a wink of his eyes
The night dragon is no more
He holds his trembling fingers
“Now what must I do?
My date has stood me up
Asking me to come here!”
“Now how did I come here?
My car is right over the lake
This night is creeping into my nerves”
He punches his fist into the air
