The open field burning
Somebody ignited it by accident?
I couldn't tell watching it
When the whole house was smelling
Of burning grass and woods
Ashes floated into the compounds and homes
The smell was choking as the wind blew
I thought it was the neighbor burning rubbish
Opened the windows
There was the smell and ashes
Over the compound and car
The tell tale sign washing time
The fire brigade came
No sound of alarm only drove in quietly
By then the fire had died
Leaving the ashes and burning simmer
By evening as I went for my walk and jog
I saw the spot of round burning sign....
I guessed it could be cigarette butt
Burning the grass then spread into the empty lot
The air was bad for a while
The residue of ashes kept floating by
By late evening light the wind had cleared
The air was purified naturally
By this morning I saw the ashes
On the porch and patio of the house
Some loose cannons on the car
The tell tale sign of the burning glow
