Don't give excuses
If you want to give one
Say it with credibility
Else say the honest truth
Honesty will stop the grapevine
It will not start to circulate in the air
It will stop it right there on the track
Move the right way stop the shadows play
The VIP crooks can give all sorts
Appeal after appeal afraid to be in jail
The judges should throw them in chains
Let them sit quietly and ponder their fate
Be fair to the petty crooks
They are sent direct to jail
Even police bail isn't allowed
They sit in prison waiting appeal
But the VIP crooks live an easy life
They can offer excuses just to stay at home
Enjoy their luxuries and freedom and wealth
The judges shouldn't have entertained them
Don't give excuses
Don't tell lies
It will be found out
It will bring the fire
