On
the bridge
The
woman stays
In
the moonlit light
She
cries softly
The
night breezes
The
brushing of the soft wind
Rustling
on her hair
She
pays no evidence
She
dreams of her world
It
comes down hard on her soul
She
can't believe she lost it
Giving
it all but cheated by sweet talk
She
stares at the river
The
darkness seems to say
“Come
right in and be gone
You
will not be cheated anymore”
She
looks around
She
thinks she is crazy
The
world in her eyes
It
seems she loses it
A
wise old man stops her
“Listen
you have many to go
Life
is full of light and dark
You
haven't seen it all
Once
bitten is nothing
You
will be wiser next round
You
learn through failures in life
Going
the easy way out defeats the cause
You
are born for greater things
Go
on and learn the way up
You
will remember this day
You
live to mark your journey”
She
opens her eyes
The
wise old man is gone
Surprise
she walks home
Feeling
good and the new day
