The
OKU teenager
Left
to a slow death
Without
food and drink
For
months until he is a skeleton
The
boy was left in the apartment
Locked
up by his mother
Of
a life he knew nothing
Of
a suffering he could only see
Lucky
for the boy
The
immigration officers found him
They
were conducting routine checks
Maybe
God want him to be found and known
There
are many in our backyards
Why
must we forget to see?
We
go out to help others in foreign countries
Back
home we don't get the news?
Now
in hospital
He
will be recovered in time
The
trauma of the boy
OKU
shouldn't be left alone
His
mother now in remand
What
was she thinking?
Doesn't
she have compassion for her son?
OKU
and what not but her own brood?
Charity
must begin at home
Let
us build bridges for the unfortunate ones
We
can't be seeking publicity of our own
In
our backyard we forget our roles
