The mother cat
She doesn't care about her kittens
As far as she is concerned
She is free from her burden
She walks quietly
Sometimes sitting down near the drain
She hasn't made any calls for her kittens
In the day or in the night
At times she scavenges for food
Where the mobile food sellers cook
Leaving crumbs on the back lane
The cats and dogs will walk by
Now the mother cat
Waiting for her Romeo cats
She is free of her burden
The kittens have all gone
