Lina Joy has no choice but to apply to the syariah court for her religious status. Before she is going to go through the hassle, she has better get relevant advice on this. Because every state has passed laws to make it an offence to change one's religion born into it. Every Muslim born into the Islam will face these laws in their own state. It declares as criminal offence..(I feel it is against the spirit of the Federal Constitution Article 11) Most states will give 6 months counseling or 2 years in prison or both whereas Kelantan is punishable by death............It is really defeating the purpose of God/Allah ways of life for His children here. Our founding fathers know better then. Yet our current leaders are playing into the mould of the devils cloth in religious book..........In history it was by sword where one was forced to convert; now in modern society it is through law one is stopped from denouncing one's religion. Dr M made the amendment into the Constitution resulting it becomes a hindrance to the people's choice....I think he wanted to get one up on Pas. We aren't an Islamic country in our Constitution but Dr M declared it is....................so I feel Lina Joy should tread with care becausse the religious officials have no compassion to put her in quarantine as had happened to some couples reported in the press. Some say it is just an administrative requirement to change it on the Mykad. Get the certificate and done with it. Why the hassle? Let the people choose their religion; and if they dont like it, let them change at will. We should learn from Indonesia our closest Islamic brother and sister. Indonesians can change their religion at will without any hassle from the Indonesian government. The basic rule of a religion is to be close to God/Allah. Now we have religious officials and laws destroying that basic rule. Christian officials say Bible is the word from God; Muslim officials says Quran is the word from God, Jew officials say Torah is the word from God, Hindus and Buddhists say their relgious texts is the word from God, the BaHai followers say...................Now who is making all the conflicting claim to the people? The people themselves. God says "I am The Only One of your God, there is no other god besides Me" Yet here in this world we have people claim of this and of that.........God is scratching His head looking at His children's antics on Earth. Lina Joy should go and enjoy her peace; follow your heart and your believe and God will be with you as ever as He has promised His compassion and grace to His children...
