Out
of the flash floods
The
rats ran out in daze
Under
the hot sun beaming
The
rats stayed eyes wild
In
the distance the cat watched
Giving
the rats a chance to walk
Let
them cool it down
Let
them feel the change
Once
the rats could steal cheese
Without
a care to the stock
They
would nipple it away
Cleverly
they went without notice
When
it was painted on the walls
The
rats ignored pretended nothing was wrong
They
put their own kind in tow
No
cats to watch their show
Now
the flash floods came
The
rats soaked wet and in misery
They
knew they were cornered
As
they clawed out to dry in the sun
They
saw the cat
They
pleaded for leniency
Some
rats scattered away
Hiding
in fear of the knocks
The
cat still keeps watching
It
hasn't pounded on them yet
The
slow process to catch the rats
Waiting
for the full moon to light
