the black bee

The black bee

Every morning I see

Flying in to stand on bamboo pole

Spread its wings ever ready to fly

Once it senses danger around

It will take off in quick flight

Its sensors must be highly tuned in

Ever ready to escape

Today I don't see

The black bee returning

Maybe it has found a new place

To sit and spread its wings

Maybe it is afraid of the birds

Flying in to steal seeds or nectar

So it wants to stay safe and live

The black bee

Live free like the wind

Fly in fly out as it pleases

Without rules or SOP

Only worry about predators

Today as I look at the bamboo pole

The black bee hasn't returned

Maybe it has found a new place

To sit and spread its wings

Living its way as it pleases
