the tax payers have no say
The tax payers aren't at liberty to know who will replace the vacant posts in the judiciary. We pay these people through our taxes yet we dont know who are the people selected to fill the vacancies. And the top judge said it is under OSA! The second and third positions have not been filled. It has been months now. Now it was reported that the Conference of Rulers rejected the government candidate. What the people like me want to know the names of the judges selected to fill the vacancies. I am sure there are a few names circulating for the Rulers to consider. These are senior positions as such it should be among the senior judges. It shouldnt be from the junior judges. Now the Rulers had spoken, the PM should take heed. Change the system of selection. Maybe he should ask the judges to stand for election for the posts vacant. The voters can be drawn from the judges any category and the lawyers in the country. It reminded me of the school days where the prefects stood for election. In this way, any student who were interested would have to stand for it. Plan the strategy to win votes and its motto if elected as a prefect. Likewise the judges interested in the vacancies can do it this way. Dont use OSA to hide the truth...............this is a democratic country. Let practise what one preaches. Let the people know who are the judges standing for the vacancies. And I am sure the judges too will feel proud their names are considered. My best view is to ask them to stand for election. May the better person win. Remember the judges all are qualified so nobody should feel inferior about it. So go for election!
