we are at the mercy of banks

Merged the banks said Nasir Razak, CIMB group chief executive. In 1997 during the economic crisis, Dr M forced the banks to merge in the believe to fight the global economy. 10 years down the road, the banks are squeezing the consumers and businessmen. Look at the exorbitant charges these banks levied on the people - the account holders or business loans. I dont know what BNM governor is doing. Has she agreed to these banks exorbitant charges? This is daylight robbery, madam!! Read the articles by CAP of Penang. Even now changing of coins too will be charged a commission. It is a service provided by banks. Now the banks won't absorb it. Every year these banks declared billion in profits yet these banks do not provide free services for certain operation. Like changing of coins. It looks like the ringgit depreciates in our own back yard. It doesnt have to compete with the world money market. I think Nasir Razak is thinking to make billions.....CIMB banking group is No:2 in the country so when the banks are finally merged say to 4 banks in the country, there many exorbitant charges to be levied. The banking consumers will be at the mercy of these banks then. Now the people have already felt the lopsided business dealing with these banks. The Finance Minister who is also the Prime Minister should wake up and study the economy of the country and the banks questionable business deals on fees charging to the people. The government directed the banks do not deal with CTOS yet the Association of banks defy the Cabinet decision. The perception is the weak leadership of AAB. He doesnt haul up these bankers or put them in jail for defying government's order. Will he put a stop to this pushing method? A decisive pursuit is required to reign in these bankers. If these bankers dont comply, it so easy to cancel the banking licence. Without licence the bank concerned has no legal standing to conduct its business. Case study in depth....just look at Proton and MAS. If the government is for the people, it should divest its holdings in all the GLCs. Do not allow monopoly to exit. Let the free competition float in the market. It is the people interest it has to protect. Will the government do it? It is only lip service - government for the people elect by the people. It is just a lie because a minister said we are 'goblok'
