The stateless people
In every state we will hear
The longing to belong
Yet they fight a long misery battle
The NGOs and politicians
Offering assistance and legal advice
Filing documents filing appeals
Yet the door still closes
Many seem from poor families
Settling here illegally to improve their lives
Yet the children born here can't have legal rights
The government should have shown compassion
These are the pool of people
The country needs to push her economy high
With an endorsement we don't need import workers
We have these stateless people at our back door
The stateless people
Some stay here for decades
They have no where to call home
Right on this soil they aren't wanted!
