The grandmother across the street
Yelling and shouting to her grandson
“Get up and prepare to school!”
In the early morning rise
The lights on the house
Bright as day of the sun
The grandson takes his time
Yet the grandmother still yell
“You better get ready
The school van will arrive now”
The neighbouring houses will hear
The early morning alarm sound
The year 1 pupil
Ready to go to school
The school van will horn
He will spend hours in school
The grandmother can take a breather
She will cook the wok for dishes
Until the afternoon light of the sun
The grandson will return from school
