Sitting empty for the old
On the patio of the mind
Waiting for the day
The old politicians
Time they take a break
They are old still hanging on
Still afraid to let go of power
They shouldn't stay
They can't walk or run fast enough
They will hold up the traffic of progress
They should sit on the rocking chairs
Watch the sunset
Write their books or dreams away
They shouldn't run as the politicians
Let the young take it over
The rocking chair
The old should sit on it
Time they have their rest
Let the young take up the responsibility
