Human trafficking
Not in top priority list
We may not hear it often
Yet it has happened
The police should act fast on it
They mustn't wait for certain hours or days
By the time the police swing into action
The victims may have long gone
I remembered 2 cases in my area
Once a college student while waiting for her transport
She disappeared at the bus station
Nothing was heard of her since
The other was a woman
She hitch-hiked back home
She did it often after work
One day she didn't make it
It has been decades
Nothing is heard of them
Possibly presumed dead
Maybe work as slaves in foreign land
Human slaves
Hiding in shadows
In the modern world
Behind syndicates of bad faith
