The scarecrow stands
Upright with arms stretched out
The straw hat on his head
The clothing of yesterday
He can't smile
He stands there the whole day
But he says he is honest
He doesn't run away
He can't turn backwards
He can't even walk forward
He can only stand upright
With one leg rooted to the ground
Birds may poo on him
Sometimes the birds whisper to him
Yet he doesn't chase the birds away
He feels he needs a diversion
The scarecrow stands
Don't strip him naked
The sign a race may feel afraid
As if it will raid the mind
The sun, the moon, the rain
The wind, the scratches by children
Running around in circle
