The Batang kali landslide
A tragedy shouldn't have happened
Yet we still read about it
The lost of lives in the tragedy
Don't blame God or Nature
It is our greed to develop
Without realizing the dangers
Cutting hill slopes unnecessary
The hill foundation will be weak
As years took its toll and rain
Underneath the ground surface
The naked eyes can't see the cracks
The rainy season in November and December
The authorities should have known what will happen
Checking the hilly areas should be conducted
It mustn't wait for tragedy to happen
Now the death toll increases
The authority conducted the search and rescue
Our prayers for a quick find dead or alive
Will the approving authority ever learn?
